Stilt House
Built for The County Show to entertain the kids and show what we do!
Made from peeled Oak poles, Cedar cladding and hand split Oak shingle roof All the materials sourced from local woodlands. Apart from the rope and slide!
We constructed it in the week leading up to the show and just about managed to have it open in time for the first group of children. Throughout the day we had a conveyor belt of kids through it all having a great time in the rain, which made the slide very fast!
Our efforts were rewarded with the prize of ‘Best small trade stand’ ! Which was a great surprise – our first ever ‘Rosette’.
We had other items on display including Oak blocks, carved seat and our lovely old Bedford TK wooden horsebox lorry. This was all packed up and shipped up to Grizedale for a ‘Forest Festival’ 2 days later.
The tree house was eventually sold to a customer who installed it in a woodland.
