The Mouse House
4 Silver Birch trees had to be felled at the top of the garden, and the Grand kids (as well as the holiday cottage guests !) wanted a place to play, so we thought a tree house made from the Birch trees would fit in.
The trees were dismantled in sections by ourselves and the trunks winched down the field, milled into planks then carried back up the field and made into ‘The Mouse House’.
To create a fun play area we built a second platform from the branch wood with a climbing net, swing and ‘wibbly-wobbly’ bridge. A sand pit was put under the hut to keep it dry and a 3 meter slide was the exit!
The only items purchased for this project were the slide and the rope, everything else was made from what was available on site.
